Djill

A complete 360-degree turn, an eclectic audience, a new face, a new Djill. A carefully considered, eclectic project where sounds and languages blend together, defining her very essence and emanating naturally from her. A project born from all her influences, where words and sounds resonate: a fusion of cultures.

It was with the entire Kassav group (Jacob Desvarieux, JP Marthély, Jocelyne Béroard, Chico Siméon) that she recorded her second zouk album, "Tendresse," produced by Sonodisc, a major label in the genre. Three more albums produced by Debs Music followed. After playing with the group Force One, working with other artists, and touring extensively in the French overseas territories (Guadeloupe, Martinique, French Guiana, and Réunion Island), in Paris, and in other major French cities, a project was growing within her: to produce a different kind of album, drawing on all her musical influences. It was while traveling to Madagascar with the Sacem delegation in 2007, representing Caribbean artists and meeting those from the Indian Ocean, that she began writing her project, "Tout ce que je suis" (All That I Am), by writing the song "ANTANANARIVO" (about street children). Then other songs followed… by other authors and composers… such as Jean Marie Moreau (Viennese Waltz), Claude Lemesle (Indian Summer), and Pierre-Yves «SPY» Sizaret, who wrote and composed for her project, as well as for herself. All her musical influences revolve around the double bass… The «cream» of French musicians participated: - Thierry Fanfant: Double Bass (Ch. Maé/B. Lavillier/Ayo...) - Tony Bonfils: Double Bass (Ch. Aznavour, Trenet Manouche...) - Julien Audigier: Drums (G. De Palmas, Nina Atal...) - Jean Philippe Fanfant: Drums (The Voice, Nouvelle Star...) - Pierre-Yves «SPY» Sizaret: Guitars and Production And many others….
