Mirza's Pickles

MIRZA'S PICKLES

Like songs, encounters are eternal if those who experienced them know how to bear witness to them. Joël Segura shared 18 years of friendship and artistic collaboration with Nino Ferrer, accompanying him on the legendary stages of Bobino and the Olympia. In his show "Les Cornichons de Mirza" (Mirza's Pickles), he revisits the musical career of the man from the "South" and adds his personal touch to arrangements of essential standards: "Le Sud," "Mirza," "Le Téléfon"... and more intimate songs from Nino Ferrer's repertoire such as "L'Angleterre," "Arriba Santana," and "L'Année Mozart." "Les Cornichons de Mirza" is a fabulous journey, taking a true spectacle from city to city, paying tribute to one of the most popular French singers. An hour and forty-five minutes of show, where Joël Segura sings and recounts, with humor and irony, the anecdotes and unforgettable moments shared with Nino. On stage, five excellent musicians, who also act, transform this unusual show into a magical and exhilarating moment. The band boasts a very high level of musical quality, with exceptional arrangements. A warm and powerful voice transports the audience into a realm of intimate emotion. A strong stage presence, supported by innovative and profoundly original staging, "Les Cornichons de Mirza" will sweep you away in a whirlwind of energy of rare intensity. Throughout the songs, spectators of all generations are captivated by the Rhythm & Blues and Rock sounds so dear to Nino, singing along to his choruses. Proof that the artist's repertoire hasn't aged a day. Nino Ferrer chose to write his last ballad in August 1998, while preparing, with Joël, the recording of what was to be his final album, "Suite et fin" (End and End). Nino only wrote the word "Fin" (End), while Joël was tasked with writing the "Suite" (Suite). "Mirza's Pickles" reflects this beautiful, simple and happy encounter.
