Martine Malory

The artist

A musical childhood with a father (Jean) whose piano music still resonates in her memory, and a mother (Claudie) who supported her vocation: MALORY's career began very early on the catwalk. This led to her signing with major labels, including PHONOGRAM BARCLAY and POLYGRAM. And even though she grew up not far from her hometown near Aix-en-Provence, her musical collaborations with artists such as Karim KACEL, Patrick FIORI, and DÉBUT DE SOIRÉE are among her songwriters and composers. MALORY has frequently graced the stages of numerous music competitions (the French-language Brel Song Competition, the Eurovision pre-selection in Geneva, the competition for the first French single in Bordeaux, etc.). Her influences are many, and the list is too long to include here, but MALORY readily cites ZAZIE, POLNAREFF, ANGÈLE, Céline DION, Lara FABIAN, Clara LUCIANI, Véronique SAMSON, Juliette ARMANET, Marc LAVOINE, Lady GAGA, Whitney HOUSTON, and others. As you can see, she falls squarely within the pop/rock genre. Moreover, the character of her album is marked by a focus on lyrics and melody, all crafted with professional musicians. MALORY is vocal about her commitments, whether it be to support children suffering from illness and suffering, or to charities that help the most vulnerable. This album benefits the PKD Polycystic Disease Association (fighting genetic liver and kidney diseases). What could be more fitting, since she herself suffers from this disease and has committed to donating all of her artist royalties from the CD's production to them. Her new album: I HAVE A DATE. After a musical hiatus, MALORY returns with a new 12-track album entitled "I HAVE A DATE" (quite a title!). This work benefited from collaborations with numerous songwriters/composers: Arnaud BASSECOURT (aka Arnaud ASKOY), Jacques ROURE (lyricist for Serge REGGIANI, LIO, Alice DONA, Michèle TORR…), Bernard DI DOMENICO (Patrick FIORI, Julie ZENATTI…), Christophe MARIE, Patrick NINO, Jimmy CURT, Denis CAILLOL, and José MORALES. The melodies offered by the artist reveal a world of profound feelings and hope, enhanced by the artistic collaboration of Jean-Paul Bondyfalat (composer/arranger), Nicolas Garin (mixing), and mastered in England by Loud Mastering. Each of the 12 tracks is an ode to love, whether it be budding love, as in "J'ai Rendez-vous"; "Si tu pars ce soir," for mothers watching their grown children leave for new horizons; "Soldat Katiana," the hope of a little girl seeking refuge in her doll's arms to protect herself from the absurdity of men; or "Vis ta vie," for everyone, as it also reflects his philosophy.
